Biotebal Max 30 tablets

Biotebal MAX is a vitamin preparation containing biotin, also known as vitamin H or vitamin B7. The drug is used to treat severe symptoms of biotin deficiency, such as: hair and nail loss and growth disorders, inflammation of the skin around the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Vitamin H supports the processes of keratin formation and the differentiation of epidermal cells as well as hair and nails, improving their condition. Biotebal MAX is a drug with the highest over-the-counter dose of 10 mg of biotin in one tablet in the form of white flat tablets with a smooth surface.

Biotin deficiency, manifested by hair loss, nail and hair growth disorders and their excessive fragility, as well as inflammation of the skin around the eyes, nose, mouth.

1 tablet contains:

• active substance: 10 mg biotin,
• excipient: 107.8 mg lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K 30, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate.

Adults:

• 5 mg to 10 mg daily.
• Take the tablet with a sufficient amount of water (½ cup).
• Note: the drug should be used regularly.
• If in doubt, contact your doctor.

Children and youth:

• In children and adolescents, the medicinal product should only be used on medical advice.
• The doctor will determine the optimal dosage and duration of use.

Do not use if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to biotin or any of the other ingredients of Biotebal.

• Store below 25°C, in the original packaging, out of the reach and sight of children.
• Protect against moisture.
• Keep container tightly closed.
• Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.

• Gastrointestinal disorders and urticaria may occur in isolated cases.
• If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

Very rarely:

• Allergic reactions (hives).
• Gastrointestinal disorders.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription.

• Anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, primidone) and alcohol reduce biotin levels in the blood.
• Steroid hormones can accelerate the process of biotin breakdown in tissues.
• Valproic acid reduces biotinidase activity.
• Alcohol reduces the level of biotin in the blood.
• Antibiotics may reduce the concentration or potency of biotin by interfering with the function of the intestinal microflora
• Cigarette smoking accelerates the catabolism of biotin, which may cause its deficiency and reduced effectiveness of treatment.

Biotin may interfere with laboratory tests based on the interaction of biotin and streptavidin, leading to falsely lowered or falsely increased test results, depending on the assay. The risk of influence is greater in children and patients with impaired renal function and increases with higher doses.

Taking Biotebal with food and drink:

• Raw egg white should not be eaten at the same time as taking the drug, as this may inhibit the absorption of biotin.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• The amount of biotin contained in Biotebal significantly exceeds the recommended daily intake for pregnant women, so the drug should not be used in women during this period.
• The amount of biotin contained in Biotebal significantly exceeds the recommended daily intake for breastfeeding women. Biotin is excreted in breast milk, but it has not been found to affect the breastfed infant. Therefore, the drug should not be used in women who are breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:

• The properties of biotin and the type of side effects indicate that the drug does not adversely affect the performance of these activities.
